Dr. Donald Morrow Black, 66, of Toledo, OH, formerly of Ironton, OH went home to be with the Lord on July 25,2022 after a short struggle with Lewy Body dementia. He was born on June 11, 1956 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Harold Douglas Black and the late Estella Beach Black Kidwell. Don is survived by his wife Nancy L. Black of Toledo; daughter, Katherine Heffernan (Shaun) of Hamilton, OH; son, Adam (Vanessa) of Williamsburg, KY; son, Matthew of Toledo, OH; sister, Linda (Larry) of Dayton, OH; brother, Fred of Chillicothe, OH, and brother, Jon (Clarissa) of Piketon, OH. He was blessed to be a Poppy of 5 grandchildren, Megan, Kayla (Ethan), Shaun Michael, Ace, and Aain. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Timothy Nottingham, Richard (Lori) Nottingham, Joshua Nottingham, and Vera (Maritn) Riffle and uncle. He was a good friend and beloved pastor to many. He graduated from Ironton High School, got a Bachelors in Education from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY, a Master’s degree in Ministry from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY, and Doctorate of Ministry in Church Growth from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Don served the Lord for 46 years in full-time ministry as a pastor. He had a passion for loving people as Jesus loved them, church growth, and missions. As a passionate teacher of the Bible, he taught people how to serve the Lord as instructed in the Bible. When he was not serving other people, he enjoyed watching Ohio State football games and Reds baseball games. He loved spending time with family, going to dinner with friends, and just resting his eyes in his recliner as he watched TV. A Memorial service will be held at Monclova Road Baptist Church on August 6, 2022 at 11 AM. Gifts can be given to Monclova Road Baptist Church missions program or Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Detroit Ave, Toledo, Ohio.
