Don Edgar
McLargin
Aug 26, 1942 — Sep 7, 2026
Sunday
Hope United Methodist Church
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Don Edgar McLargin was born on August 26, 1942, in Millbury, Ohio, to Emmil and Clara (Arnold) McLargin. He graduated from Lake High School and later married Ramonda L. Weikinger, beginning a marriage that would span 64 years and become the foundation of the family they built together.
Don passed away on September 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Don was a hardworking, strong-willed, unforgettable man who left a lasting impression on the people who knew him. He spent much of his life in construction and was known for his ability to build, repair, fix, and figure out just about anything.
He believed in hard work, doing things the right way, taking pride in what you did, and never giving up when life became difficult.
Don was also a man of strong Christian faith. His faith was an important part of his life and gave him strength through both the joys and the many hardships he faced. He believed in God, leaned on his faith, and carried that belief with him throughout his life.
Don was not only a father and grandfather, but also a teacher and mentor to many. Throughout his life, he shared his knowledge, his skills, and his work ethic with countless people. His influence will continue through the many lives he touched and the lessons he passed on.
Together, Don and Ramonda built a life centered around family, commitment, enduring love, and faith. Don was the proud father of Donny McLargin, Lisa Wylie, and Brad McLargin. He was Grandpa to 9 and Great-Grandpa to 19.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Donny McLargin; his grandson, Tommy Wylie; his great-grandson, Javin Jaques; his parents, Emmil and Clara (Arnold) McLargin; his brothers, Raymond McLargin, Leroy McLargin, and Richard McLargin; and his sister, Doris Fondessy.
Those who knew Don will remember his honesty, his toughness, his humor, his strong opinions, and the way he pushed the people he loved to be stronger, work harder, and do better.
One family friend described him in a way that perfectly captured who he was:
"He was a giant in this world."
His family could not agree more.
Don will be deeply missed by his wife, Ramonda; his children, Lisa and Brad; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his extended family; his friends; and the many people whose lives he influenced over the years.
