Don H. Layman

Don H. Layman, age 83, of Swanton, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday evening, October 20, 2026.

Don was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1943, son of Donald and Helen (Ridge) Layman. He was preceded in death by his parents and both siblings.

Don was a graduate of Sylvania High School. On July 12, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Irene MacEacheron. They shared 63 years of marriage together. Don was a member of Local 50 Plumbers and Pipefitters for 61 years. He enjoyed working and all the friends he made.

Don loved hunting and he fished for walleye on Lake Erie, coho salmon on Lake Michigan, also fishing in Canada with friends. Later, fly fishing with a friend on his pond at home.

Don is survived by his wife, Irene; son, Dennis (Kathy); daughter, Shannon; grandson, Austin (Katlyn); great granddaughter, Emma Rae Layman; step granddaughter, Brittany (Hunter) Osenbaugh; step great grandchildren, Noah, Rowan and Stetson.

At Don's request, there will be no service. Donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
