Dennis "Denny" Ankenbrandt, Sr.

November 27, 1960 — April 3, 2024

Dennis "Denny" J. Ankenbrandt Sr., 63, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home. Denny was born November 27, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to William and June Ankenbrandt who precede him in his death, along with his sister Ann Marie Andros; brother-in-law Larry Smith, brother-in-law, Ross (Patty) Hall, and sister-in-law, Jane Reynolds.

He is survived by his loving family, Jenny, along with their three children, daughter Jamie Hanifan, son Denny (Jaclyn) Ankenbrandt Jr. and son Adam Ankenbrandt; grandchildren, Johnny Hanifan III, Cora Hanifan and Sophia Ankenbrandt; siblings, Mary Ellen Smith, Bill (Kim) Ankenbrandt, Bob (Tammy) Ankenbrandt, Jack (Birdie) Ankenbrandt, Ed Ankenbrandt, twin brother Dan Ankenbrandt, Kenny Ankenbrandt, brother-in-law Joe Andros, brother-in-law Tom Hall, brother-in-law Charles Reynolds, as well as his several nieces and nephews. A very special thanks to his sister-in-law, Carolyn Hall for all her loving support.

Denny was a 1979 graduate of Macomber High School. After graduating high school Denny later became a master plumber, owning a well-known plumbing business since 1995—Ankenbrandt Plumbing, “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”. During his sons’ earlier years, Denny was a Cub Master in the Washington Local School area and loved being involved with the Anthony Wayne High School hockey team. Denny was a self-proclaimed “experienced” euchre player, who was regularly euchred on pathetic loaners. Sympathy was withheld. He made up for it with his witty personality and smooth jokes. Denny was the guy that could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, as he never knew a stranger. He had a beaming personality and loved being the life of the party. He also loved tinkering on motorcycles and traveling the country on his Harley. Denny was beyond skilled and mastered everything he approached. Passing on his many talents to his children and grandchildren, Denny’s legacy will carry on.
