Delma Oviedo, age 75, of Oregon, Ohio, died on Friday, August 25, 2023, at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. Delma was born on February 26, 1948, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, the daughter of Alfredo and Filiverta (Ibarra) Estrada. Delma was a graduate of Waite High School and a retiree of Kroger, in Oregon. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Delma loved camping, traveling, and going to the theatre. She and her husband had a passion for dancing. They were dance partners for 60 years and knew many styles of dance. When they hit the dance floor, all eyes were on them.
Survivors include Delmas husband of 56 years, Jose G.; daughters, Regina (Steve) Materni, and Cecilia (Tony) Acevedo; sister, Maria Estrada; half-brother, Robert Rodriguez; grandchildren, Stephen (Madeline), Kaylee (Andrew), Nicholas, and Isabella; great-grandson, David; and lots of nieces and nephews. Delma is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo and Filiverta (Ibarra) Estrada; brother, Juan Jose Estrada; sister, Olga Estrada-McClain.
A mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, Ohio, on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Delmas passing, are asked to consider St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
