Della May Freytag died June 5, 2013 at the age of 92. She was residing at Parkcliffe Community in Toledo, Ohio under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born Della May Mason on June 12, 1920 in Zanesville, Ohio. She grew up in Zanesville and graduated from high school there. She went to college for two years at Judson College in Alabama and then transferred to Capital University in Columbus, Ohio where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in music in 1943. She met her husband, John Freytag at Capital and they were married in 1943. He preceded her in death four years ago. She loved playing her violin, viola, and autoharp in various groups wherever she lived. She loved being a homemaker, gardener, seamstress, and Christmas decorator. She was an active member of church where she and her husband lived, the last one being First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. She is survived by her twin daughters, Martha Gluth and Melinda Gallant, four granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. Memorials may be given in her name to Heartland Hospice of Toledo or to First United Methodist Church of Perrysburg. Online condolences may be shared at toledocremation.com
