Deborah A. Huyghe

October 8, 1950 — November 9, 2022

Deborah A. Huyghe of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 9, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Debbie was born October 8, 1950, to Walter and Mamie (Betts) Jacobs and was a graduate of Eastwood Local Schools.


Debbie spent over 30 years with ProMedica Health System beginning as an X-Ray Technician. Her passion to help others led her to attend the University of Toledo where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and Master of Education. Upon graduating, Debbie worked for Northwest Ohio Speech as a Speech-Language Pathologist and later returned to ProMedica where she enjoyed helping younger children improve their speech.


Debbie enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, and attending performances at Stranahan Theater. She and her husband loved going down to the Smoky Mountains in the Fall. Most of all, Debbie loved being a grandmother and getting to spend time with her grandbabies.


A devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother, Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory husband of 51 years, Wayne Huyghe of Toledo, Ohio; sons, Greg (Jennifer) Huyghe of Sylvania, Ohio, Todd Huyghe of Portland, Oregon, and Andrew (Bess) Huyghe of Maumee, Ohio; sister, Suzanne Avery of Bowling Green, Ohio; six grandchildren; two nephews, and one niece.


Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Jacobs Sr.; and nephew, Kenneth Jacobs Jr.


A Celebration of Life will be held at Crossroads Community Church, 6960 Sylvania-Petersburg Road, Ottawa Lake, MI on Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
