David L. Vail

David L. Vail, 67, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019. He was born on March 23, 1951 to Earl Vail and Kathryn Vail Justus Miller. He was affectionately known as “Skinny”. He graduated from Waite High School in 1969 and joined the U.S. Navy following his graduation. He loved boating and fishing, winning the Pompano Beach Sailfish Tournament in 1982. He lived many years in Florida, which allowed him to accomplish his lifetime dream of rebuilding and living on his houseboat in Marco, Florida. He is survived by his loving son, Jason; step-daughter, Heather (Topher) Farrand; mother, Kathy (Jack) Miller; sister, Diane (John) Piotrowski; brother, Daniel Vail; and sisters-in-law, Cathey Vail, and Fiona Vail; 2 grandchildren, Jared and Lily; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, Earl Vail, and brother, Richard Vail. Upon his request there will be no visitation. A memorial will be held early this summer.
