David C. Stacy

David (Dave) Stacy, 72, born in Erie, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dave fought a brave fight throughout his illness. Even after receiving a new heart valve, he surprised his doctors by living another two years...years he made his own...living life on his terms and appreciating the time he was given.

He enjoyed living in his apartment in Luna Pier and valued the freedom that came with it. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. In his younger years, Dave took to the road, hitchhiking throughout the United States and spending several years in Florida. He had an adventurous spirit and a desire to experience life in his own way. After his illness he realized how important family was to him. He talked about how he loved all the visits and hugs from them in his last weeks.

Dave was the youngest of ten children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles Stacy; his brothers, Tom and Phil; and his sisters, Bea and Amey.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Shultz; his brother, Bill Stacy; his sister-in-law, Dot Stacy and many nieces and nephews.

Dave lived life his way and faced his challenges with courage. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Dave always said if he won the lottery he would give part of it to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Any memorial donations are suggested to be sent there.
