David Brian Pollard, 64 years old, of Toledo, Ohio passed away while at home on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023.
David was born in Greenwich, Connecticut and grew up in Virginia, later attending the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. Afterwards he served briefly in the Coast Guard, based in Charleston, SC.
After leaving the military, he returned to Williamsburg, Virginia and pursued his love for music. He played drums in several bands there and was an active and beloved member of the music community.
He spent the next several years traveling through different parts of the country on his Harley motorcycle, living for awhile in Florida and Illinois, before moving out to California, where he stayed for more than 20 years. While in California he worked as security for a Nightclub, and then later he started his own business, Dave’s Details, doing contractor painting and general handyman work.
In 2017, David and his beloved dog, Scooby, relocated to Toledo, Ohio to be closer to family. While in Toledo he continued contract painting and doing a variety of construction work.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Robert Frasier Pollard and Marion (Lewis) Pollard, his brother Robert Frederick Pollard and sister-in-law, Grace (Goodwin) Pollard.
David is survived by his niece, Lisa (Pollard) Ross and her husband, Scott, of Perrysburg, OH, and his grandnephews, Canon Ayres (Mariah), Hunter Ayres (Taylor), and Aiden Ross.
Arrangements have taken place, respectfully, by the Cremation Society of Toledo, where memories and messages may be shared online at their website.
His family will have a private service at a later date as it was his wish. Special mention and appreciation is extended for all of the wonderful compassion and care provided to David by his Oncology Team at the Toledo Clinic Cancer Center in Maumee, Ohio.
