David “Dave” Joseph Lammers, age 62, of Putnam County,passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born on February 15, 1962, the son of Norman and Jane (Miller) Lammers. Dave graduated from Miller City New Cleveland High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served six years. Dave had one son, Randy “RP” Lammers, in 1987. Upon returning home to Putnam County, he began working as an auto mechanic. During his career, he worked for several garages, worked with amazing friends, and even opened his own shop, with the love of his life, Shirley.
Dave often had a difficult time showing the ones he loved, just how much he truly cared. Despite this, was a very generous man and would give the shirt off his back to anyone he cared for.
Left to honor and cherish his memory include his loving mother Jane; Shirley Maynard, and children, Jeffery, Debbie, and Kimberly Maynard; five grandchildren, Jasmine, Jordan, Dakota, Dillan, and Grayson Maynard; son, Randy “RP” (Lisa Swint) Lammers; six brothers, Mark Lammers, of Leipsic, James (Joan) Lammers, of Miller City, Robert Lammers, of New Bavaria, Anita (Tony) Stechschulte, of Miller City, Fred (Melissa) Lammers, of Curtice; three sisters, Julie (Aaron) Kahle, of Glandorf, Joe (Megan) Lammers, of Kettering, and Angela (Bill) Rumbaugh,of Deshler; many other family members and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lammers.
There will be a mass held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 200 East Main Cross St, Miller City, Ohio, 45864, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 am, and his ashes will be buried at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Miller City. Please join us in a toast to celebrate the life of Dave at the Buckeye Club 110 S Main St. Miller City, OH 45864 immediately following the burial.
