David was born to Donald & Gaile Jahns in Toledo Ohio. David was a free spirit and lived life on his terms. His children would say “Papa was a rolling stone”.
David excelled at everything he did. He was "The Birdman" making birdhouses that have been sold all over the country, to being "Desert Dave" when he was out west doing decorative stone landscapes. He was a handyman who could build, roof, fix or install just about anything.
David lived all over the country which started as a teenager hitchhiking all the way to California, lived in Florida, Texas, Las Vegas to Kentucky where he spent his most recent years with his special friend, Dora West.
Last but certainly not least, David loved writing and playing his own music. “If you want a real taste of that mountain you got to climb a little higher.”
