David J. Hoffman

David J. Hoffman passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021. He was the husband of Cathy Hoffman. They shared 48 years of marriage together. From Fremont, Ohio, he was the son of John and Genevieve Hoffman. David graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965. He then went on to graduate from the University of Detroit in 1970 and was a successful civil engineer for many years. On April 13, 2006, David became one of the few double transplant recipients at the Cleveland Clinic. After successfully receiving a liver and kidney he went on to live 15 more years. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Hoffman; children, Tony Hoffman (Courtney) and Nicole Shaw; grandchildren, Logan, Coltan and Jaxon; and siblings, Tom Hoffman and Mary Sauber. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hoffman; mother, Genevieve Hoffman; and brother Ron Hoffman. There will be no funeral services at this time instead a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the National Kidney Foundation.
