David Lee Evans

October 7, 1944 — November 23, 2021

David Lee Evans, age 77, of Swanton, Ohio passed away in his home on November 23, 2021. He was born on October 7, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to Bud and Erma Evans, also of Toledo. David was a graduate of Macomber Vocational High School. David served his country when he enlisted in the Air Force just out of high school and served a short time. He worked many places after that, but enjoyed driving short haul truck for Universal Urethane Products in the 90’s and 00’s. He also opened up his own TV/VCR repair shop in Swanton that he ran with his wife until he retired. David was also and avid fan of Neil Young and Jackson Browne. He was always excited to hear their songs when they came on. He was able to go their respective concerts over the years. David also loved to take pictures, paint, and write stories when he was younger, but always said he didn’t think he could do them when he was older. David took up the guitar because of one of his brother’s love of the guitar, though he was b=never a professional, he still enjoyed picking up the guitar once in a while, and playing whatever tune came to mind. He always wanted lessons, but the issue of money always played a role why he never took them up. David also loved the Lions and the Tigers, even if they didn’t win their games all the time, he was still a dedicated fan. David is survived by his wife, Cherie of 44 years, whom he married on February 2, 1976, (just so he could remember their anniversary); step-sons, Scott Conrad and Gregg (TeriAnn) Conrad; Magan; and 5 step-grandchildren. There will be no funeral. The family has chosen cremation for David and wants and needs to move on at this time.
