David Begley

David Patrick Begley born August 21, 1947 to Richard and Mary Begley passed away peacefully on January 2, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was surrounded by his wife and children when he took his last breath. David is survived by his wife Gale, sons Joshua, Benjamin and daughter Izzy: Brothers Jessie, Denny, Butch, Roger and sister Susan all of the Phoenix area.David was the owner and operator of Expert Painting and Sons, painting for many local businesses and homeowners over the years. David was also a long time musician in the Toledo area. He had his start in music in the Phoenix area where he played with Sonny and Cher. David was a Vietnam Veteran. After his discharge from the Army David moved to Toledo where he met his longtime friends of the Radiation Blues Band. David went on to play with many other bands in the area including B.B. Express, Mason Dixie Band, Bob Wurst, Randy Schaffer, and Dusty Roads. He also played on the worship team at several local churches. He loved music of all kinds. He occasionally played with jazz bands in the area and even played with some great friends in a blue grass trio. David was the bass player with the big heart and high harmonies. He will be greatly missed by many.His family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care they provided. We would also like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at the Toledo and Ann Arbor VA for the wonderful care they provided over the past year. Davids wife Gale, sons Joshua and Benjamin (Jenny) and daughter Izzy (Mike): grandchildren Devin, Noah, Jacob and Trevor would like to invite friends and family to join us to at the Buehner Center by Mallard Lake at Oak Openings on January 12, 2014 from 12:00-4:00 to help celebrate Davids life. . Musician friends please bring your instruments and your voices to help us remember the good times.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or donations can be made to help support a veteran and his family who is currently recovering from a liver transplant.
