Darcea Jeanette (Miles) Townsend Jackson of Toledo, Ohio fell asleep peacefully in death on November 11, 2022. She was the third child and first daughter born to Frank and Margarete Miles on November 17, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio. Darcea was raised in a vibrant house with four other siblings.
In her early teen years, Darcy enjoyed spending her summers in Cleveland with her cousins Tina and Debbie. Together they were known as three peas in a pod. Darcea attended and graduated from Libbey Highschool in 1977. Darcea had her first job at 16 years of age as a data entry specialist. Darcy married Lysander Townsend and birthed four children: two boys and two girls which she endearingly called her “four bunch”: Lysander, Levon, Nikki, and Tiffany. Darcy was a very busy young mom who was wholeheartedly dedicated to her young family as she managed and ran her mother’s business, Cobe’s Soul Food restaurant.
Darcea was employed at Libby glass for six years. Darcy married Oden Jackson and relocated to Pontiac, Michigan where she worked for Daimler Chrysler. Eventually she moved back to Toledo to be closer to her family. Darcy enjoyed cleaning and often cleaned professionally throughout her life. She loved cooking and cherished spending time with her family. She was a devoted caretaker of her grandchildren, as well as her mom.
Darcea is survived by her mother, Margarete Miles; daughters, Nichole Townsend and Tiffany Townsend; 11 precious grandchildren; siblings, Frank (Attima) Miles, Lamont Miles, Angela Miles, Lauretta Satterfield; and brother-in-law, Kenny Satterfield.
