Daniel Gregory
Futey
Sep 16, 1955 — Oct 14, 2026
Toledo, Ohio
Daniel Futey Jr., 71, of Delta, Ohio, passed away on October 14, 2026.
Born on September 16, 1955, Daniel was the son of Daniel Futey Sr. and Margaret Futey (O’Neill). He was a one-of-a-kind man who lived life on his own terms and never pretended to be anyone but himself. Funny, stubborn, and full of personality, Daniel was truly his own person. He left a lasting impression on those who knew him and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and loved ones.
Daniel graduated from Central Catholic High School. In his younger years, he enjoyed water skiing and chasing adventure wherever it took him. When he wasn’t out on his boat, he could often be found racing dune buggies. He had an adventurous, adrenaline-loving spirit and a passion for living life his own way.
Above all, Daniel was a fun, loving dad who made sure his children’s childhoods were filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories. He gave them experiences and moments they will carry in their hearts for the rest of their lives. In his own way, he made their childhoods special, creating memories that will never fade.
Daniel had a special way of ending conversations with his children, almost instinctively saying, “Bye bye, love you!” Those familiar words became a cherished part of who he was as a dad. It was his own special way of saying goodbye, and his children will carry those words with them always.
Those who knew Daniel will remember his humor, his stubborn streak, his strong opinions, and the unmistakable personality that made him who he was. He did things his own way, leaving behind countless stories to tell, laughter to remember, and memories to treasure.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Futey Sr. and Margaret Futey (O’Neill), and his beloved wife, Karen Futey (Hubbell).
He is survived by his beloved significant other, Julie Soules; his children, Callie Futey and Daniel Hubbell (Raeshel); his sisters, Dianna Kurth, Danette Futey, and Dana Phlegar (Tom); and his cherished grandchildren, Keagan, Ryker, Zayde, Maddox, Alora, Wylder, and Bentley.
Though Daniel will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the family he loved, the stories they share, and the countless memories that reflect his one-of-a-kind spirit. His legacy lives on in the adventures he embraced, the laughter he brought, and the love he leaves behind.
Services will be held at a later date.
There will never be another quite like him.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
