Daniel Lee Flowers was born in Chicago, IL on April 3, 1941. After the death of his mother at an early age, he was raised by his grandfather, Henry, until his passing. He lived with different family members until he ultimately ended up in Toledo, Ohio. He worked in the Ohio State Psychiatric Hospital, as well as St. Vincent Hospital for many years. He was known as “Godfather”, as he would welcome anyone in need with open arms and heart and become as close as family to them. He had an incredible sense of humor which was what people liked the most about him. He had the ability to make almost anyone laugh. He had a full life with family, both of blood as well as of his choosing. He is survived by his significant other, Theresa; his children, Dorothy Shaw, Robert McCoy, Aaron Lofton, Melvina Flowers, Rachel Moore; his non-biological children, Barb and Dexter Cox; and all of his grandchildren and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Flowers Jr. and daughter, Crystal Moore. He will be missed immensely by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love him.
