Dale A. Garrett, 59, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on September 19, 2022. He was born December 21, 1962 to Herbert and Betty (Coyner) Garrett. Dale attended and graduated Springfield High School in 1980 and served in the US Army.
Being a jack of all trades, Dale’s favorites were being a Painter, Carpenter and a Mechanic. He loved all sports including Boxing and Football. He loved the Steelers, Ohio State, and could play a mean hand in Poker.
Dale left behind many family members that loved him, including long time partner, Deborah Tolliver; sisters, Karen Piotrowski and Mary Shiffler; brothers, Edward, Johnny Ray, David, Jim (Mary) and Fred Garrett (preceded in death) and Jimmy (Dawn) Cooper; children, Anmarie (Timothy) Aldape, Jesse Garrett, Michelle Scott (Larry French, Jr,) ” Melissa Garrett ”, Tommy Garcia, Jennifer Hafner, Tim Byram, Mary and Brandy Tolliver, and Dale Jr (preceded in death); grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Ethan and Logan Fox, Avamarie and Christian Aldape, Jesse Jr and Skylar Garrett, Michael Scott, Braxton, Lareina, Jaylyn and Jecara Byram, Bralyn Johnson, Perry Hannah III, Jason Pederi, Lillian Lewis, Hallie Lojewski, and Damien Garrett; great grandson, Zyaire Lojewski, and many nieces and nephews who loved him. He will be dearly missed by many.
Dale was an organ donor and someone will be gifted the honor of seeing the world through his eyes.
There aren’t words worthy to explain the measure of worth Dale held in the hearts of those who loved him. His largest accomplishments were through those same lives and hearts of those close to him. He was known for being quite like a bear- a teddy bear who would take the shirt off of his back and rush to the aid of anyone in need of help but also like a grizzly bear, if need be, to protect the ones he held dear. Dale was a fun-loving guy who took life with stride, enjoyed the little things, was a simple man not needing much. He loved cracking jokes and being a big booming presence in the room filling it with love and laughter.
John 16:22- “therefore you too have grief now: but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from me”.
