Donald S. “Scott” McClain passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 in the emergency room at St. Lukes Hospital from cardiac arrest. He was born June 26, 1952 in Uniontown, PA., son of Robert J. and Doris (Landymore) McClain. As a youngster, he enjoyed Boy Scouts and received the God and Country badge. Scott was a graduate of Start High School. He joined the Canterbury Choir of Trinity Episcopal Church in 1973 and was fortunate to have sung at Westminster Abby in London. Scott was Sous Chef at The Convention Center as well as chef at Libbey Ownes, Big Als, Gladieux River Cruises and The Hilton. His career started as Food and Beverage manager at the Holiday Inn downtown. Scott had a solid educational foundation in organizational development, employee training and developmental skills. He received degrees from Lourdes College, Spring Arbor University and The University of Toledo. These degrees included: Theology, Science, Psychology, Performing Arts Music with BIS continued studies in Bachelors Nursing Program (1995-1999) at St. Vs. He had an MS certification in Human Donation Science (a full scholarship from MCO) and was an Organ Procurement Coordinator in Los Angeles, CA. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert J, and a sister Laren McClain. He is survived by his mother, step-father, Bruce Sinner, brother, Robert and sister, Lori. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and step-brothers and sisters. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date when out-of-town members can gather.
