Craig Timothy Truhan, age 71, died at his home on February 11 in Point Place. He was born on November 17, 1950 in Passaic, NJ. Craig was a 1968 graduate of Whitmer High School and upon graduation, joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served from ’68 – ’74. Craig worked for over 22 years at DeVilbiss Co., until their closing. From there, at age 40, he went back to school to become a journey electrician and became employed with Z & Z Electric, which he remained for 20 years, retiring in 2012. Upon retirement, Craig and his wife, Crystal, enjoyed an Alaska cruise for their 10th anniversary. He was active with the Amvets 222, lifetime member of the O.U.C. and Ottawa River Yacht Club. In his spare time, he liked fishing, boating, camping, sprint cars, and spending time with family and friends. Craig is survived by his wife of 45 years, Crystal Clayot Truhan; daughters, Trisha (Todd) Vassar and Donnell (Mike) Collins; son, Arron Truhan; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his favorite aunt and uncle, Mary & Ralph Ruff; brother, Blaine (Vicky) Smith; and sister, Cheryl (Kevin) Sattler. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ruff; step-father, Robert Smith; biological father, Emery Truhan of New Jersey. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. He was cremated, per his request.
