Cornelius J. Whaley

September 1, 1939 — March 28, 2021

Cornelius Jackson Whaley, age 81 of Toledo, OH was born on September 1, 1939 to Willie and Willie Mae Whaley in Lake Providence, Louisiana. As a teenager, Cornelius moved to Toledo, OH. After finishing school, he went into the military. Cornelius also worked in many different fields of employment. He retired as an electrician from General Motors in 2005. Cornelius symbolized his dedication to Jehovah in 1984. He served as an elder in the West English Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved serving the congregation, engaging in the door to door ministry, and sharing Bible truths to all who would listen. Cornelius loved playing practical jokes on his family, making people laugh and talking about his wife and kids. He truly was a family man. In 1975 Cornelius married his devoted wife Delouris. They shared over 45 years of good times and memories. After retirement Cornelius and his wife shared in the ministry full-time. They also traveled the country and Canada together via train. Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents Willie (Willie Mae) Whaley, his brother Matt L. Whaley Sr., his sister Ruth Beckley and his dear son Todd J. Whaley. He is survived by his dear wife Delouris, his brother Herman Jackson, his sisters Pamelia and Paulette Jackson, his sons Cornelius Jr., Justin C. Whaley, his daughter-in-law Joann Whaley and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
