Connie Williamson, age, 72, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on August 5, 2021 when she succumbed to a prolonged illness. She was proceeded in death by her father Robert Norman Christy (1925 – 2000), her mother Marjorie Christy (Maedel) (1927 – 2015) and her brother Robert Christy (1962-2008). She is survived by her ex-husband James Williamson (Toledo, OH), daughters Christy (Dr. Thomas Turner) of Temperance, Michigan, Amy Williamson of Toledo, Ohio, son Benjamin (Abby) Williamson of Metamora, Ohio. Two sisters Becky (Dr. Thomas Cable) of Maumee, Ohio, Carol (Thomas Wagner) of Lansing, West Virginia and brother Thomas (Sharon) Christy of Swanton, Ohio. She had 8 grandchildren, Zachary (Alexis)Turner, Hayley Turner, Samuel Williamson, Sadey Turner, Jaden Turner, Cruz Paredes, Lyndi Williamson, Clara Williamson and great grand-daughter Felicity Turner. Nieces and nephews, Kathy Rosebrook, Justin (Courtney) Christy, Brian Cable, Elizabeth (Jason Dickheiser), Mellisa (Josh LaForest), Molly (Alex Phluger) and Andrew Wagner. Connie was born in Toledo and graduated from Start High School in 1967. She married James Williamson after he returned from the Vietnam war in 1969. Growing up, she spent her summers at the family’s cottage on Deep Lake and later on Dewey Lake. She worked as pharmacy technician at Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed the sun, being on the water, reading and hot air balloons. Prior to falling ill she was very active in the lives of her grandchildren often sitting and spending time with them. She was affectionately referred to as “Merma” by her children and grandchildren and her love for them will never be forgotten. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Yvette from Otterbein, Jodie and Katie from Hospice of Northwest Ohio for providing support and love to Connie and family in her final days. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at the Providence Dam Shelter at Providence Metropark on Sunday August 29 from 2 – 5 pm (13827 S. River Rd, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522).
