Conley Cornett, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Metro Health Hospital of Cleveland, Ohio. Conley was born on March 16, 1953, the son of Charles and Edna (Baker) Cornett, on route to the hospital, in between Harlan County and Leslie County, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Leslie County High School and was employed with Boilermakers Local 85, in Rossford, Ohio, until his retirement. In his spare time, Conley loved being around his loved ones and close friends. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing the guitar. He was a skilled man and often worked on his vehicles, boats, and four wheelers. He also had a green thumb and was passionate about tending to his garden. He took pride in his home and where he raised his children. Conley will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Christine Cornett; children, Adam and Zachary Cornett, and Janie (Cornett) Jennings; grandchildren, Caleb Cornett-Adkins, Breslin, Faye, Jamie JR., Trinity and Harvey Jennings, and Journee Cornett; sister, Carolyn (DeeNee) Cooley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edna Cornett; siblings, Delno, Charles Faye, Howard (Minard) Cornett, and Katherine (Kat) Clark.
A Celebration of Life and dinner will be held on Conley’s 72nd Birthday; March 16, 2025, at the Local 85 Boilermakers Union Hall, in Rossford, Ohio. More information will follow on Facebook and inside an edition of the Boilermakers Union News Press.
