Chrystal Lou Kohler

Chrystal L. Kohler, 95, was called home on July 26, 2026, in Oregon, Ohio. She was born on May 5th, 1931 to Bart and Mildred Summersett. She was wed to Henry Kohler Jr. on June 24th, 1949 and shared 70 blessed years of marriage.

Chrystal loved the outdoors and nature, almost as much as Henry, which provided them with many memories on the water and camping with the kids. You could always count on her watching the birds and squirrels from her kitchen window. Always fascinated by music, it transposed over to her hobbies of playing the accordion and organ and joyously whistling her favorite tunes.

She was most proud of her family, and often boasted about how many "grandkids" she had, not everyone gets to be called Great-Great-Grandma. She always tried to make it to all the ceremonies and celebrations of her family, and one could always count on her having the biggest smile in the crowd and the best hugs after. Her love for her family was unmatched and something we will all carry into future generations.

Chrystal is survived by daughters Kathy Allred and Karen Saylor, sons Danny Kohler and David Kohler, sister Shirley Kingsley, brother Jerry Summerset, grandchildren - great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren Gary Allred Jr (and family), Scott Allred (and family), Deana Kohler (and family), David Jr and Monica Kohler (and family), Rachael Saylor (and family), Bethany Kohler (Jeffrey Martin and family), Andrea and Robert Roach (and family), Dana Kohler (and family), and Crissy Kohler (and family), and many nieces and nephews.

Chrystal is preceded in death by Garry and Larry Kohler - sons, who are now united for the first time, Bart Summersett Mildred Summersett - parents, Henry Kohler Jr. - husband, Gary Allred - son-in-law, Jojo (Josephine) Kohler - daughter-in-law.

A celebration of life for Chrystal Kohler will be held on Friday Aug 14th, 3-8pm with the Pastor speaking at 6pm, at Christ United Methodist Church located at 5757 Starr Ext, Oregon, Ohio.
