Christal A. Strobel

Christal "Chris" Strobel, 74, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1950 in Michigan, to Alphie and Betty “Mama”. Chris was a cashier for many years, before retiring from The Kroger Company location on Jackman Road. She enjoyed working with the customers and helping make their day brighter. Prior to that, she worked as a cashier at Meijer but spent most of her life as a homemaker.

In her younger years, Chris attended St. Frances de Sales church, in Toledo, Ohio. She enjoyed nature, especially visiting The Butterfly House, and loved animals. She had many pets over the years that meant a lot to her, especially her dog, Dino. She took care of many stray dogs and loved to tell funny stories and jokes to make people happy and laugh. Chris enjoyed sitting around the camp fire with family and friends singing songs and telling stories. Christmas was her favorite time of the year; she enjoyed watching everyone open gifts to see the excitement on their faces. Her heart was full of love, treasured memories, laughter and happiness.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Alphie and Betty “Mama”, her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Alvin. Surviving is her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Danny; her daughters, Janell and Lori; four grandchildren, Amber, Ashley (Tomas), Desteny, Madison; seven great-grandchildren, Gregory, Ava, Tristan, Rickey, Ryley, Dahlia, Roman; five nephews and nieces, Keith, Michael, Steve, James (Linda), Christina; Special friend, Mike. Also surviving are several great-nephews and nieces and her dog, Bear.

Chris wanted everyone to know she was a believer in Christ and often said when she passes do not be sad, she will be in the arms of The Lord Jesus Christ and will have no more pain or suffering, she will be happy and safe.

The family will be having a private memorial at a later time.
