Ching Kok Go

Ching Kok Go, 93, died Unexpectedly at Promedica Flower Hospital on October 27, 2022........

Ching Kok was born on March 15,1929 in China. He grew up in the Philippines where he learned and mastered the art of watchmaking before the age of 12. Friends and family could always count on him to fix their watches and clocks at no charge, even long after he retired. He only stopped when he lost his vision.

In 1979, Ching Kok legally immigrated alone to the United States in search of a better life for his family. Although Ching Kok was born to adversity, he worked hard all his life, was generous to a fault, he appreciated what little he had, and he gave the shirt off his back to others he considered less fortunate. That same year, he secured a job with People's Jewelry Company in Los Angeles, California and a year later, he was transferred to a position in Toledo, Ohio within the same company. In 1980, his wife and children joined him in Toledo, Ohio. Ching Kok loved this country, believed in the "American Dream" and he could not be prouder than the day he became an American citizen.

Although Ching Kok never had the opportunity to finish school and attend college, he was quite the inventor and philosopher in life. He invented gadgets for personal uses. He shared his thoughts that the real hell is life on earth........

Ching Kok was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Sy Ha Go, who passed away in September 2021 at the age of 90. He is also preceded in death by his son, Henry Go, who passed away in May 2020 at the age of 64. He is survived by his daughters Ritchie Go (Harold Sherman) and Divina Pappas (Bryan Pappas). He is also survived by his triplet grandchildren Nicholas, Alexis and Jade Pappas who will try to carry on his "American Dream".

A memorial service followed by a celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at 8600 Castle Oaks Place, Holland, OH 43528.
