Charles Chuck Merritt

Charles Chuck Merritt, age 87, passed away at the Elizabeth Scott Community on July 8, 2017. He was born on September 29, 1929 to Norman and Sofie (Kurek) Merritt. Chuck was a US Air Force veteran, and a retiree from Bingham Stamping. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, racing pigeons, at the casino, or with his family. “He was quick witted and had a personality that was easy to fall in love with; he had a story about everyone and everyone had a story about him. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike, and his brother, Larry. He is survived by his children, Sandy (Ron) Wisniewski and Tim (Shirley) Merritt; grandchildren, RJ, Missy and Tim Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Carol), Angie Fassold, Rosie (Bob) Marksch, Carol (Joe) Jagielski, Patty Case, and Kathy (Dave) Blowers; many speciel nieces and nephews, and several good friends. A celebration of life will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4030 Douglas Road, Toledo, Ohio 43613 on July 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Elizabeth Scott for their care of Chuck in his last months.
