Charles "Teddy" Lee

Charles Ted Lee “Teddy”, age 72 of Columbia, SC, lost his battle with a long term illness on May 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his family in Maumee, OH. Teddy was born on February 24, 1950, in Charleston, SC to Freda and Charlie Lee. He graduated from Hanahan High School in 1968, where he excelled in all sports, especially football and baseball. Teddy loved God and was raised in Highland Park Baptist Church in Hanahan, SC. In March of 1969, he met the love of his life, Nancy, and they were married at Yeamans Hall Presbyterian Church in Hanahan, SC on June 5, 1971. Together they shared 50 years of marriage. Teddy coached little league baseball in Cayce, West Columbia for 17 years. He coached many young people in the area, including his two sons. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of several bass fishing clubs, where he participated and won many tournaments. When Teddy wasn’t fishing at Jake’s Landing, he could also be found at Haynes Par 3 golf course with his two sons. He is preceded in death by his parents Freda and Charlie Lee, and his brother in law Ron Fuller. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Coleman Lee; sons, Charles Ted Lee, Jr. (Amy) and Thomas Allen Lee (Hope), his grandchildren, Trevor, Cate, and Daniel; sisters, Kay Wilson (Leonard), Brenda Fuller (Joe Rudd), and brother, Timmy Lee. In addition are surviving cousins, nieces, and nephews. In remembrance of Teddy, we ask for donations to be made to your local little league baseball organization and local high school fishing teams. Service information A service in Columbia, SC will be held at a date to be determined this summer.
