Charles L. Kamann, Jr.

Charles "Chuck" L. Kamann Jr., born August 15th, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Virginia Kamann, passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 8, 2025, in his home at the age of 74. Charles married Linda L. (Stevelburg) Kamann, in 1979, and together they made many beautiful memories over the next 36 years. Chuck received his engineering degree at The University of Toledo and worked as a team leader for Chrysler for 39 years, before retiring. Together, he and Linda enjoyed boating as members of the Maumee River Yacht Club, and he served as the Commodore for the Point Yacht Club, in Sandusky, Ohio, for several years.

Charlie was a family man through and through, taking on raising his grandson, Noah, and even changing his work schedule as he neared retirement to be able to pick him up from school every day. He saved up his vacation time to be able to chaperone his grandson's field trips and even took on the responsibility of coaching his little league baseball team. Out of the many stories Chuck shared over the years, one of his favorites was of giving his late wife Linda multiple scares carrying his grandson in a sling on his back to put up Christmas lights on the house.

Charles was preceded in his passing by his loving wife, Linda L. Kamann, as well as his adoptive daughter, Kelly C. Rister. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Sherwin; his sister, Sharon Barkman and her husband Dave; and adoptive son, Dana Todd Rister, as well as his grandchildren, Nicholas Willard, Cody Harris, and Noah Marietta. He was surrounded by a large group of extended family members, who held a yearly family reunion that was a great highlight of his life. Chuck was an amazing man, loved by all, and he is forever in our hearts.

The family will be holding a service at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. The date and time for services have not yet been decided but we will notify friends and family when the time has neared.

Charlie lived an exuberant life, and he will be greatly missed.
