Chuck Buehrer, born to Carl and Jane (Mays) Buehrer on September 20, 1946, passed away on June 21, 2024. Chuck lived a life dedicated to service in many forms, leaving an indelible mark on his family, friends, community, and country.
Chuck bravely volunteered to serve his country during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of sacrifice and dedication that would remain throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to serve his community in Toledo through a career at Toledo Edison, including work at the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant. After earning early retirement, his commitment to service extended to Washington Local Schools, where he contributed in numerous capacities, always with the best interests of the children at heart.
In a life filled with acts of service, Chuck found his greatest joy and pride in his family. He was a devoted father to his son, Bob, and a loving grandfather to his granddaughter, Charlotte, who was named in his honor. Chuck's legacy of love, dedication, and service lives on through them.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Jane. He is survived by his siblings, Joyce, Suzie, and John. He is also remembered fondly by his long-time partner, Cheryl Mowka. Chuck will also be remembered by Cheryl’s family, who warmly welcomed him in their lives, including Cheryl’s son, Brian (Julie) Mowka; daughter, Tracy (Corey) Graham; grandchildren, Hayden, Chelsea (Adam) and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Belle and Micah.
Chuck Buehrer's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit of service and love will continue to inspire and guide those who carry his legacy forward.
Services will be held graveside at Lake Township Cemetery, 3550 Walbridge Rd, Millbury, OH 43447 on Saturday, July 6th at 11am.
