Charles E. Blasingame, Sr.

Charles E. Blasingame, Sr., passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Whitehouse, OH, while under the care of Hospice of NW Ohio. Charles was born March 13, 1926, to Matt and Evelyn (Bryan) Blasingame in Toledo, Ohio. Charles served in the Navy during WWII, then as a Reservist in the Korean Conflict with the Navy Seabees. Upon returning to civilian life, he became a Local 8 electrician, retiring in 1991. Surviving Charles are his son, Charles E. Blasingame Jr., of Toledo; daughter, Darlene K. Meldrum, of Whitehouse, Ohio; step-daughter, Shirley (Ronald) Kaminski of Toledo; grandchildren, Judy (Ed) McDonald, Jeffrey (Kris) Kaminski, Jennifer (Travis) Sturt, and Kara (Brent) Williams; sister, Alice Goldsmith; brother, Allen Blasingame and 9 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Hazel (Tebbe) Blasingame; granddaughter, Autumn Jankowiak; son-in-law, William Meldrum and sister, Viola Hicks. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova Road, Monclova, Ohio.
