Catherine S. White

Catherine Sue White, age 66, died peacefully in her apartment of 17 years surrounded by her daughter and cockatiel companion of 16 years, Pretty Girl.  Catherine was born to Richard White and Nancy White (Patterson) on February 1st, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio.  Catherine completed her GED and studied dietary at Owens Community College.  Catherine worked in many areas throughout her life but loved working as a waitress at the White Tower in downtown Toledo until its closing.  Cathy loved spending time in and around the Covenant House where she has lived for 17 years.  Cathy would often frequent many downtown Toledo restaurants and establishments.  She truly loved downtown living.  Cathy also loved listening to music from all genres, The Beatles, Glenn Miller and other favorites. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Nancy.  She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Marie Martinez (Juan); granddaughter, Arianna Delauder; grandson, Steven Delauder, great granddaughters Jessie and Nora.  Also surviving are her sisters Sr. Linda Marie White, Deborah Anderson (Danny), Therese White; and brother Joseph White. Catherine will have a memorial celebration to honor her life at a date and time to be announced.  Donations can be made to the special caregivers at ProMedica Hospice.  The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at ProMedica Hospice with special mention to her nurse Wanda; aides Brittany and Beth; Chaplain Steve and the social work team.  You truly helped her beyond her goal to stay independent at home and die surrounded by the people and things she loved.  Thank you.
