In the early hours of Monday, September 15th, Catherine passed away peacefully in her sleep in the presence of family and her fur babies, Jasper and Sadie, who were her companions in life, in Delta, OH. Those who knew her know Catherine was a fighter and resilient until the end. Born and raised in Toledo, Catherine moved to Logan, OH as an adult where she attended Hocking College and worked in a nursing home for the Alzheimer unit. She then moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1996 to be closer to her children and grandchildren, and she became an in-home pediatric nurse (LPN), which was one of her most prideful accomplishments. Catherine retired in 2020 in Las Vegas before moving back to Ohio to focus on her own health.
Catherine had many interests and hobbies, including cooking and baking, for which she had hand-written cookbooks from her mother that Catherine added to over the years, cross-stitching; a hobby she shared with her daughters and granddaughters, sewing; a passion she used to create Halloween costumes and Christmas dresses for her grandchildren, gardening; her rose bushes were well-cared for and would bloom beautifully, bowling; a sport she was actively involved in competitively and recreationally, and gambling (Viva Las Vegas). She was a natural hostess, with all holidays leading to her home being overflown with love. Her years of being a pediatric nurse were some of the happiest moments of her life, with many friendships between her patients and coworkers lasting years into her retirement. She left a lasting impression on everyone who came into her orbit.
She loved her family, and was preceded in death by her father, Rowland Martin; mother, June Weyant (Schafer); and stepfather, Leonard Schafer; oldest son, Richard Timmons; oldest daughter, Kelley Bankey; and grandson, Jeremy Bosma. She is survived in life by her daughters, Kerri Denton and Julie McNicholas; and son, Douglas Timmons; her sister, Roxine Chapin and her husband, Mel; her niece, Sandy and family; as well as five grandkids and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Please keep her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests contributions for the cremation services. Her family may hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
