Caswell S. Taylor Christian

September 2, 1946 — July 25, 2020

Caswell Silvanus Christian died at the age of 74 in Toledo Ohio on July 25th 2020. He was born in Portland Jamaica in 1946 to Leonard Christian and Lissa King, Both of whom have since preceded him in death. Caswell spent his young years and early adult life in Kingston Jamaica where he worked as a Mason. Or as us Jamaicans would call it a handy man of all trades. Caswells favorite hubby is playing dominoes with his buddies like Frank, Rawlo, and Wally, and the rest of the crew from Detroit, to Canada, to Toledo to Florida. Wherever two dominoes a knock Caswell would be there. “Taylor” as he was called by his closest of friends was the life of every party and the host of many. He was larger than life itself with his witty sense of humor which he still had up until the lord called him home. He migrated to America the summer of 1979 leaving behind temporarily his eight kids. Using his skills as a mason and worked for many decades as an apartment maintenance superintendent, He was good at building and fixing anything which was a natural gift of his. After retiring Caswell finally settled down and married Ernestine Triplett, who although divorced from Caswell stuck by him to the end of his life. Caswell Christian was the father of eight children. From oldest to youngest, Carlos Christian, David Christian who preceded him in death, Kanhnell Christian, Howard Christian, Venice Christian-Duroseau, Omar Christian who preceded him in death, Marlene Christian, and Sashagay Christian. Caswell was grandfather to twenty-Seven grandkids and four great grandkids the last of which is due October 2020. Caswell was the second oldest of seven brothers, one of whom preceded him in death and three sisters. A funeral service will be held at Perry Mount Cemetery in Pontiac, MI on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1:30 pm
