Carole Stickles

Carole Janice (Lough) Stickles 89 years old was born Aug. 6, 1935 in Nineveh, Pennsylvania. She past away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2025 in Toledo, Ohio at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Carole attended Waynesburg High School and was a straight A student. Then she went on to be a telephone operator for many years. And no need to look through a phone book, just ask Carole she would know the number right away. Once she became a mother she decided to become a stay-at-home mom. She loved being home it gave her time doing what she loved the most, planting flowers, cooking and baking, but most of all spending time with her family.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Dwayne Stickles (they would have been married 68 years this September); parents, Charles and Thesie Grimm; brothers, Larry and William Grimm; son, David Stickles; and grandson, Michael Nova.

She is survived by sister, Nancy Cherup (John); daughter, Deborah Vogelbacher; grandchildren, Tabitha McNelley, Jonathon Stickles, Ryan Pawlak (Amanda), Larry Stickles (Nadine), Robert Stickles; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a private service.
