Carol Stepp

Carol “Sis” Stepp Schiebel, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was born on November 10, 1940 in Butler, Pennsylvania; to Bernard “Spark” Schiebel and Margaret “Peg” Wolfe Schiebel. Carol attended St Mary's Assumption School in Herman, Pennsylvania and was a 1958 graduate of Butler Area Senior High School and married Darwin C. Stepp on April 18, 1983. Most of her working life was spent working with the public but her favorite was with the school system. She worked as a waitress at Morgan's Eastland Diner, food service at Sunnyview Nursing Home and finally in food service at Summit Elementary. She retired from Sunnyview in 1995 and Butler Area School District in 2018. She enjoyed her friends, close family, her Sunday family dinners, and was very fond of anything Amish and Amish culture. She loved whoopie pies, Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, casinos, trips to Las Vegas, and spending time with her great-granddaughter, Lilith. In addition to her parents and several siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin C. Stepp; her children, Kenneth Karenbauer and Connie Karenbauer; and a grandson, Jason Schramm. Left to cherish her memory are her grandson, Ryan Schramm (Tonya Gregory); great-granddaughters, Caitlyn Gregory (Joe Gill) and Lilith Schramm; great-great-granddaughter, Vivien Gill; beloved nephew, Earl (Sandy) Osche; and close friends who were like family to her, Peggy (Joe) Tomsey, Rhonda (Dick) Okeson, Jolene Willard and Frank Cichra. Per her final wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
