Carl Herman Hoffman, age 99, of Toledo passed away Tuesday,December 4, 2013, five days after his 99 birthday, with his lovingfamily by his side. Carl was born November 29, 1914 in Monroe, Michigan toHarriet and Bernard Hoffman. He joined his father in the insurance businessbefore later taking over the business himself. He was a talented musician andan avid reader; he loved fishing, enjoyed playing cards, and was always willingto lend a helping hand to anyone.Carl Herman Hoffman, age 99, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013, five days after his 99th birthday, with his loving family by his side. He was a talented musician and an avid reader; he loved fishing, enjoyed playing cards, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.Carl is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Jane Hoffman; daughter, Donna (Chuck) Hixson; son, Terry (Barbara) Hoffman; grandchildren, Colleen (Greg) Ball, Amy (Ernie) Yeager, Jennifer (Matt) Rexroad, Brent Hoffman and Nicole (Jason) Dutcher; great-grandchildren, Allie, Christopher and Ernie Yeager, Haley and Kelsey Ball, and Abigail and Adam Rexroad. Also surviving are many nieces, cousins, and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clifford, and sisters, Margaret Shepler and Helen Oberleiter.Private services were held.
