Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Candace “Candy” Jeanne Shaw, age 75, who passed away peacefully at her home in Woodville, Ohio on October 24, 2026, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born on February 18, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, Candy was the daughter of George and Joanne Owen. She graduated from Woodmore High School and Penta Vocational School, in 1969. Following graduation, she began her career at Woodville State Bank, before moving on to several other companies in the Toledo area. When her first child was born, Candy embraced the role of homemaker, devoting her time and love to her family. Candy will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of family, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.

A lifelong member of Woodville United Methodist Church for 69 years, Candy found a sense of community and connection through her church. She also enjoyed serving as a 4-H advisor, sharing her time and knowledge with others.

Candy had a love for life's simple pleasures, especially those spent with family. She enjoyed holiday cooking and baking, creating cherished memories and traditions that her loved ones will carry with them for years to come. She was avid bowler and also loved to dance and always appreciated a good time. Before children came along, Candy enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking trips to Myrtle Beach, creating wonderful memories along the way.

Above all, Candy treasured her family. Her warmth, generosity, and love for those closest to her were at the heart of who she was. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Candy is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Shaw; her sons, Allan Shaw and Jordan Shaw; her granddaughter, Zoey Shaw; her grandsons, Wyatt Shaw and Lincoln Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Joanne Owen, and her stepmother, Mary Owen; sisters, Diane (Denny) Epling and Jodee Crawfoot; and her niece, Stacy Benner.

A Memorial Service will be held at Woodville United Methodist Church, 201 W. 1st St, Woodville, Ohio 43469, on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service, where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Candy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Candy's life was a beautiful reflection of love, family, and kindness. Her memory will forever remain a treasured gift to those she leaves behind.
