With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Camille "Granny" Wiczynski, 76 of Toledo, Ohio at UTMC on March 7, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born to Edwin and Anne Wiczynski on July 30, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio. Camille was a south Toledo native who attended and graduated from Scott High School. She was employed at the Northwest Ohio Hospital and retired in 1994. Camille continued to live on the south end where she turned her focus to her family.
She wasn't just known as Camille. Those who really knew her only knew her as Granny. Whether you were just meeting her or if you have known her for years, everyone knew who Granny was. Granny's smile would light up the room. She lifted many hearts with her sense of humor, endless love but most importantly her passion for family which was unmatched. She loved her family very much and loved to stay up to date on what everyone was doing. She loved to join them at events and participate in anything that included her family, especially her grandchildren. Granny was accepting to all and would treat you as if you were always part of the family. She looked for the best in everyone and loved you for who you were.
Granny always loved and looked forward to lunches with the girls. Granny always stayed up to date and talked daily with Andrea, Marilyn and Ann. She always knew she could count on them to pick up the phone. They talked about how their day was going, newest family updates or their favorite gossip about anything and everything. There was never a day she did not speak with them.
The biggest driving factor in her life were her grandkids. She was the most loving and supportive person in their lives who always provided endless love. She would attend school programs, events and any sports the kids were involved in. If you were to ask her what her favorite sport or team was it would be whatever her grandkids were involved in. She may not have known the rules or positions but that did not stop her from learning and being a part of what the kids were passionate about.
Granny always encouraged the kids to get a good education. She made sure to remind them to "Study hard, learn a lot and have fun". That will forever be engrained in their hearts. She was an avid reader, loved to scroll on Facebook to see what everyone was up to, Candy Crush, Tim Hortons Ice Caps and always staying up to date with the news and of course the politics...but we won't go there!
She will surely be missed by many. She leaves behind so many memories and a special place in everyone's heart. We truly love you and will forever miss you. As time goes on, the pain will fade and the emptiness will feel whole again. We know you will watch over us and check in from time to time to say hi. Your spirit will always be felt in the hearts of all you have ever met.
Camille is survived by her family, Michelle Rittichier, Eric (Courtney, Griffin, Eagan) Byrne, Nicole (Jeffrey, Colton, Talynn) Chesser, Gregory (Ellen, Elodie) Melroy, Tanner (Angie) Rittichier, Alyssa (Travis, Mason, Olivia) Rittichier and many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be private and in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favorite charity on her behalf.
