Bruce W. Vantress

Bruce W. Vantress, 73, passed away at 3:30 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2021 at his home in Holland, Ohio. Bruce was born on November 22, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. He worked for the Jeep Corporation as a Production Operator for 30 years. Bruce was a previous member of the American Legion Post of Luna Pier. If he wasn’t spending time shooting bugs with his salt gun on his front porch or watching the birds with his wife, he was out golfing with his dear friends. Bruce is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Marsha N. Vantress; his step-children, Keith Sortor, Cammie & Scott Turner and Kimberly Sortor; he really loved spending time with his many grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one on the way; his siblings, Sally Vantress, Judy & Mike Cunningham, and Valerie & Martin Witberg; and several nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded by his mother, Betty; father, Bruce; and brother, Ronnie. A luncheon to honor and celebrate Bruce is scheduled for 2 p.m. on November 21, 2021, at 11045 Harold Dr. at the American Legion Post of Luna Pier, Michigan.
