Bruce Emmet Sibley passed away April 13.” He was able to celebrate his 94th birthday with his family on April 4.” Bruce was an engineer at Champion Spark Plug for 32 years, retiring in 1985 when he moved to Florida with his loving wife Peg.” They enjoyed a wonderful retirement of travelling, watching their grandchildren grow up, and spending summers at their longtime family cottage on Clark Lake, Michigan.””” Bruce was born in Toledo to Lois and Brace Sibley and attended Longfellow School, Devilbiss High School, and St. Johns Military Academy in Wisconsin.” After attending Ohio State University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, he joined the United States Army Air Force in 1943 and served during World War II.” After the war he graduated from the University of Denver.” He married Margaret Kastor in 1953.” After her passing he married Margaret Steger in 1961.” They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before her death in 2011.” Bruce was an avid reader and user of the library. He loved golf and was often seen hitting chip shots in the yard and offering golf tips to anyone who would listen. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peg); sisters Lois Christman and Jean Ginsler; daughters in law Cheryl Sibley and Fran Sibley; and grandson Matthew Sibley. “”Bruce will be remembered by children Charles, Deborah (Steve) Geeting, Fred , Susan (Richard) Mefford, Doug (Diana), and Scott (Cathy Kuzma); 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Parkcliffe Alzheimers Community for the loving care he received these past years and Hospice of Northwest Ohio and suggests any memorials go to those organizations or your local library. A celebration of Bruces life will be held at Clark Lake this summer.
