Bradley Wayne Snow

Bradley (Brad) Wayne Snow, 66,”of”Oregon OH, passed peacefully at home after being surrounded by his adoring loved ones on”September 12, 2017. Brad”was born in”Toledo, OH”on”October 7, 1950 to Rosalyn (Frye) and Ralph Snow.”He”graduated from”Macomber HS where he played football and was a band member.” He continued his lifelong education receiving a”Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice”and Master of Education from”University of Toledo.” He graduated from the Ohio Police Academy and would later go on to teach there as well. He completed extensive training with agencies such as the FBI, National Institute of Corrections, Ohio Police Office Training Council, Ohio Department of Human Services, Law Enforcement Board of NW OH amongst others. He served as an NCO in the US Air Force supporting air cargo missions both in Vietnam and in peace time locations finishing up the first stage of his military tenure as a member of the US Armys ROTC program.” He served as a member of the United Nations International Police Task Force in Bosnia as Chief of Police and Station Commander where he was awarded the Humanitarian Award of Notable Achievement and Excellence in the Advancement of World Peace and Human Rights Through Professional Police Leadership. Brad”worked”in many capacities dedicating his service to our communities and our country.” He served with the Charleston, SC Police Department, Lucas County Sheriffs Department and later accepted the role of Director and Chief of Security for the Toledo School District.” Additionally, he served as Academy Commander of OPATA, Commander in the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council, and small business owner. He worked with many youth organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Law Enforcement Explorers, midnight sports leagues and Scouts to name a few, helping to introduce community policing and ensuring Lucas county youths were introduced to and comfortable with local LE.” He pioneered multiple Safe School programs partnering with agencies including the Ohio Attorney General, Ohio State University, University of Michigan, Bowling Green University and the Ohio Department of Education. He”was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, 32nd Degree Mason Scottish and York Rights, Knights Templar, Shriners, American Legion, Knights of Columbus. Brad”and Sue married”on February 5, 1998; they were married 19 loving and fun filled years sharing a love that set an example to their children and grandchildren of what love, friendship, marriage and partnership stood for. He spent many adventures with his partner in crime, Sue, exploring the eastern seaboard and historical lighthouses.” He especially enjoyed reminding his grandchildren that he outranked their mothers and spoiling them with treats that made their moms shake their heads and smile. Family and friends, especially his grandchildren will greatly miss his expert and creative story telling.” He was always a source of both historical information, family genealogy as well as humorous tales of his friends and family.” His favorite mischievous topics were about his adventures with Sue and the journey of raising his daughters.” Every visit with Brad was filled with laughs, learning and good snacks!” He was notorious for sharing bits of wisdom, defusing conflict with logic or humor and putting up with the crazy women in his family.” He taught us all to leave the jars under the sink alone. Brad is survived by”the unquestionable love of his life Susan (Pellegrin); Devoted Daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Stewart and Missy (Michael) Heck; Sons, Michael, Daniel, Stephen Leszkai; Grandchildren, Kimberly Bogle, Michael Bradley Heck, Sean Bogle and Matthew Heck; Sister, Jenean (Robert) Baird; Sister-in-law, Sharon Murphy; his beloved Mickey and Minnie and family and friends. We are all blessed to be written in the chapters of Brads life.” Be not sad, we are the lucky ones.
