Bonnie Louella Schefdore

Bonnie Louella Schefdore (Nolan) "Bonni Blue", 71, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo on April 18, 2026, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a compassionate person with a gracious heart and a big smile who had love for family, (related or not). She loved dancing away to Blues music, "tinkinering" around the yard and spending time with her beloved, faithful, gypsy (cat) which brought her much comfort in her time of transition. If you knew (mom) you loved her! (lady with the blue hair)

Bonnie was born to Lester and Helen Nolan (Johnson) on October 13, 1954, in Climax, Michigan, where she attended Climax primary schools. She grew up with her sisters and various cousins, enjoying time at Lake Michigan sitting around campfires and building memories.

She held various customer service jobs before furthering her education. She received her Bachelor's degree in early education at University of Toledo, spending a short duration of time as a substitute teacher for Toledo Public Schools. Following, she handled various roles at the Sight Center of Northwest Ohio while furthering her education at Bowling Green University (1 credit from a Master's degree). After "retirement" she spent a few years as a deli clerk at Kroger where she enjoyed building many memories with her peers and friends, until she fully retired and took time to relax and spend time with loved ones.

She is survived by daughter, Helen Fitzgerald (Brian); grandchildren, Breonna, Amanda James (JT), Marcell and K'juan; great-grands, Ka'Leahya, Landyn, Jaeleona, Alayah, Avianna, MJ, and Kiyomi; In-laws, Lori ( John) Regan; nieces, nephew, many cousins, and extended family with a host of friends that she considered family. She loved everybody dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Helen Nolan; her husband, Richard J. Schefdore; sons, James Marshall III and Jason Schefdore; sisters, Linda and Mary; and in-laws, Ferdy and Evelyen Schefdore.

A private scattering of ashes will be held at Toledo Memorial Park at a later date.
