Bonnie L. Mccue

Bonnie Lynn (Goldsmith) McCue, known as ‘Boo’ to her beloved husband Russ of 56 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5th at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.  She was born November 11th, 1946 to parents Earl and Betty Goldsmith, who preceded her in death, as well as her sister Carol and brother Steve, and is survived by her brother Mike (Becky) Goldsmith, sisters-in-law Susan Case, Diane McCue, Debbie Goldsmith, and brother-in-law Roger Polter. She met her lifelong companion, Robert ‘Russ’ McCue, in 5th grade at Westwood Elementary School, where their lifelong relationship started and grew into a family of four with daughter Vicki (Daniel) Stark, and Brian McCue.  She leaves behind her children and 4 grandchildren: Marisa & Jacob Stark, and Kyle & Sydney McCue, and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a lifelong homemaker, expert baker, and outstanding maker of home-cooked meals; and especially loved making candies for her children and grandchildren during the holidays.  She loved her gardens and was especially fond of raising orchids and Stargazer lilies. She enjoyed sitting in her swing on the deck, admiring her 50-year-old ‘Seven-Sisters’ rose bush and rosebud trees she raised with Russ. Bonnie and Russ thoroughly enjoyed their many adventures in Holmes County, visiting with their Amish friends over more than 30 years.  Bonnie truly enjoyed the Amish culture, as well as that of ‘Little House on the Prairie,’ and decorated her home with many items from those craft cultures. We would like to thank the staff at the Toledo Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their tremendous care.  In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation, so others may not suffer from this awful disease.  The family invites visitors on May 1st for a celebration of Bonnie's life on May 1st, 2021 from 3:00–7:00 pm at 11743 Robinshire St., Temperance, MI 48182.
