Bobbie W Newby

Bobbie Wayne Newby Sr., age 69, of Monroe passed away at home July 16, 2010 with his family by his side.Cremation has taken place. A memorial r e c e p t i o n will be held Sat., July 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at Point Place Post 3265, Veterans of Foreign Wars, hall, 5416 N.Summit St. , Toledo . Bob was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on May 19, 1941 to Lela May (Cupp) Newby and William Lee Newby.Bob was a hard-working, free-spirited, loving father, husband, brother, uncle and friend.He worked 13 years at Woodhaven Stamping before he moved to Artesia, New Mexico, where he worked in construction for a short period, then went to the oil field and worked for the best oil producers in the Permian Basin for the next 30 years.He also was proud that he served in the Army.He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys (Cheerleaders). He enjoyed dancing, fishing, riding his Harley and being with family and friends. He just loved life. Anyone who met him, loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his loving companion, wife of 26 years, and mother to his children, Lorrian L. (Kalka) Newby of Monroe; his children, Kim Newby of Toledo, Bobby (Holly) Newby Jr. of Toledo, Ben Newby of Erie, David (Tamara) Newby of Pioneer, Ohio and stepson Charlie Counterman of Tole grandchildren Christina Newby, Nichole Newby, Alex Holtz, Donavon Newby and step-grandchild Justin Stewart. Also surviving are his brothers, Eddy Newby of El Paso, Texas, Donny Newby of Toledo, Terry Newby of Monroe and sisters Betty Risden, Barb Murray and Mary Mc-Cormick, all of Monroe, and their children and families.He was loved by many people and had many friends.
