Bob French, 93, was called home to the Lord while surrounded by his loving family on July 8, 2016. Bob drove a tank for General Bradley in Austria, France, and Germany with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a longtime member of the Adams Township American Legion Post #553, and was a proud recipient of the 2009 Honor Flight. Bob also worked for over 50 years in lathing and plastering for various contractors, and his work is evident in many of Toledos and surrounding areas large landmark buildings. He was a democratic Precinct Committee Man, and he later retired as a building inspector from the City of Toledo in 1988. Bob was an avid Ohio State and Detroit Tiger fan, he never missed a game. Bob has been reunited with his wife of 59 years, Virginia. He is survived by his daughter, Dianna (Gary) Heft; grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) West and Adrienne (Chad) Kolebuck; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor, Noah, Luke, Jackson, and Josie. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale, Toledo, OH, family will receive guests beginning at 6pm, services will follow at 7pm. Interment will be private. Contributions in Bobs memory may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, or Kindred at Home, 1900 Indian Wood Circle #100A, Maumee, OH. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at the Waterford at Levis Commons, especially Tom, Kim and Darlene, also Pastor Paul, Lisa, and Jim with Kindred at Home for their compassionate care of Bob.
