Billy A. Jones

Billy Augustus Jones, 87, died peacefully in his sleep at home in Toledo on February 11, 2022. Billy was born on November 30, 1934, in Pleasant View Kentucky to Benjamin Theodore Jones and Cleta Mae Sasser Jones. On October 11, 1958, Billy married the love of his life Truletta Toney Jones and they enjoyed almost sixty-three ½ years together. Billy served his country from 1952 in the National Guard, the US Navy, and then active Navel Reserves for a joint total of 10 years. After 31 years at Vicon Supply he retired in 1996. Billy enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished woodworker. He also loved hunting and taught Hunters Education for the State of Ohio for over 30 years. Billy was a member of First Alliance Church and an ordained deacon. He was also a 32-degree Mason. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Theodore Jones and Cleta Mae Sasser Jones, sisters: Ina Faye Smith, Betty Ruth Smith, Phyliss Ann Theodore, brothers: William E. Jones and Lloyd Jones. He is survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Any donations may be made to Toledo Rescue Mission in memory of Billy. There will be no funeral service. A remembrance celebration will be scheduled at a later time.
