Billie Jean (Taylor) Cox passed away Sunday, October 15th, 2023 at the age of 69 with her devoted husband, Donald Ray Cox, by her side after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
She was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on March 19th, 1954 to parents, Charlotte Sue (Brown) Taylor (later Gorrell) & Alf Gene Taylor. Billie and her mother moved to Toledo, Ohio in the early 1960's and graduated from Whitmer High School. She married her beloved husband on May 8th, 1972. They raised 4 children together and remained by each other's side for over 50 years until her passing.
Billie loved thrifting, garage sales, shopping & always finding the best deals & finding gifts for her loved ones. She loved collectables such as crystal figurines and dolls, and loved to decorate her home of over 40 years. She was a huge cat lover and rescued and helped many cats and other animals over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents & loving stepfather, Charles A. Gorrell, as well as her son, Douglas Lee Cox in 2018. She is survived by her husband; her sons, Donald Gene Cox & Dean Allen Cox; her daughter, Kelsey Lynn (Cox) Trevino; and her grandsons, Trevor & Luis Trevino.
Services will be private, if friends or family members would like more information or would like to make memorial donations please contact the family via phone or email. She will be interned at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
