Beverly Barbour Stephens-Davis, age 82, was born in Toledo, OH on June 26, 1939 to Louis and Beulah Barbour. Beverly passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Beverly attended Old St. Benedict School and Parish, as well as Central High School. She was a graduate of the University of Toledo. Beverly was a community activist in the Secor Gardens Community, holding office as president. She was a precinct worker, vote counter, poll watcher, and avid worker for the Democratic Party. Beverly was a member of the Padua Center, the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Martin DePonnes Church, METIS Association, and Black Catholics Ministries. She was employed at Lucas County Child Services for 30 years as a Social Worker. Much love was showered on Beverly’s family; her heart and her purse were always open. Beverly was preceded in death by parents Beulah and Louis; siblings, Cheryl, Scott, Michael, Lynette, and Lewis. Erick passed away on May 20, 2022. Beverly is survived by her sons, Marlon, Douglas, Benjamin, and Mario; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Louise, Rita, Carla, Leslie, William and Stephanie; a special group of childhood friends, and friends who were like daughters to her, including Zanetta, Bonnie, and Barbara. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
